Salient Points of Press Conference of BJP National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi

Rahul Gandhi’s comparison of the successful Operation Sindoor to a “surrender” exposes a deeply distorted mindset

****************
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks go beyond anything even Pakistan’s military chiefs or terror groups like Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed have ever said. If Rahul Gandhi speaks of “surrender,” one must wonder, is he trying to outdo India’s enemies in undermining the nation?

****************
While a united Indian parliamentary delegation, including Congress MPs, is presenting India’s case with dignity on the global stage, Rahul Gandhi, despite holding the crucial post of Leader of the Opposition, continues to make reckless and juvenile statements

****************
The Congress party and Rahul Gandhi’s family legacy are filled with historical instances of surrender. They may have surrendered in the past, but India, today standing strong and proud, will never bow to anyone

****************

A lion does not need coronation or rituals to prove his power, his strength alone makes him king. Likewise, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji is the lion of Bharat Mata, a true leader defined by his unwavering strength and resolve

****************

If Rahul Gandhi wants to know the meaning of ‘surrender,’ he should look at his own past: seeking foreign intervention was a ‘surrender of sovereignty,’ failing to stop terrorism an ‘ideological surrender,’ continuing talks post-26/11 a ‘diplomatic surrender,’ and halting nuclear tests in 1995 a ‘scientific surrender’

****************

Pt. Nehru surrendered the military in 1962, asking the US to not only provide aircraft to the Indian Air Force but also to operate and manage it. Giving away 80% of Indus waters to Pakistan in 1960 was a resource surrender. Handing over Kashmir and territories to the Muslim League was a political surrender

****************

Those who aren’t true leaders are dishonoring the nation’s pride, the courage of the army, and national identity just to compete. How can the country trust Rahul Gandhi’s wisdom and judgment in such a scenario?

****************

Rahul Gandhi, his party, and his family have a history marked by surrender. Yet, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India will never surrender to anyone

****************

Rahul Gandhi may habitually and mischievously criticize the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Government of India, and the BJP and that can be tolerated. But if he spreads lies about India, its pride, and its Army, that will never be accepted

****************

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday. During the conference, Dr. Trivedi accused Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, of insulting the Indian Army and echoing Pakistan’s narrative. He condemned Rahul Gandhi’s comparison of ‘Operation Sindoor’ to a “surrender,” calling it anti-national. He referenced the Congress party’s history of past surrenders to highlight Rahul Gandhi’s dangerous and irresponsible mindset. Dr. Trivedi asserted that while political criticism is acceptable, spreading lies about India, its pride, or its armed forces will not be tolerated.

Dr. Trivedi criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that while members of the joint parliamentary delegation, including Congress MPs, are representing India abroad with dignity and unity, Rahul Gandhi is demeaning the stature of the Leader of the Opposition with his statements. Rahul Gandhi’s remarks reflect not just immaturity, but a lack of seriousness, responsibility, and regard for national interest, it is a deeply unfortunate and anti-national attitude.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi, saying that comparing the remarkable success of Operation ‘Sindoor’ as detailed by top military officials including the Directors General of Military, Air, and Naval Operations, to a “surrender” is not just an insult to the bravery of the armed forces, but a deep affront to the soul of the nation. This mindset reflects how distorted, dangerous, and irrational Rahul Gandhi’s thinking has become. While it's no longer surprising, it's shocking that Congress leaders are not only making headlines in Pakistani media but their statements are now being quoted in Pakistan’s Parliament. While Pakistan has previously used Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in its international dossiers against India, this is the first time he has said something so extreme something not even Pakistan’s army chief, terror outfits, or dreaded terrorists like Masood Azhar or Hafiz Saeed ever dared to say. These figures have expressed anger over India’s military operations, but none ever claimed that “India surrendered.” This is a false, shameful, and foolish statement.

Dr. Trivedi questioned Rahul Gandhi for mocking and undermining India’s strength. He asked whether Rahul Gandhi now wishes to go a step further than the terrorists and the Pakistani army by speaking their language. So far, Rahul Gandhi has provided “cover fire” to Pakistan’s terrorist organizations and its army—are you now trying to become their ‘Sartaj’? There is a Hindi proverb: “Naya mullah pyaaz zyada khata hai.” But here, the irony is that the person isn’t even a mullah, yet in his desperation to prove something, he fails to realize how gravely he is insulting India’s pride, the bravery of its armed forces, and the nation’s identity. How, then, can the country trust such a person’s intellect, reasoning, or wisdom?

National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi stated that exactly a year ago, on this very day—4th June—the results of the general elections were declared. On this occasion, when the nation is celebrating the success of its democracy, it is quite ironic to witness that the party which, despite trying thrice, could not even cross the three-digit mark, is declaring itself the winner and bursting firecrackers. On the other hand, the leadership that has, for the third consecutive time, been elected Prime Minister with a clear public mandate is being falsely portrayed through a narrative of defeat. This is not a matter of political analysis but a test of the political understanding and wisdom of the party which, unfortunately today, appears in the form of the Congress. Referring to the valour of the Indian Army as “surrender” by Rahul Gandhi is not just unfortunate, but a grave insult to both the Indian Army and the nation. I want to ask the Congress party clearly—Operation Sindoor’s success was not announced by the Government of India, nor by any spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was declared by senior officials of the Indian Army themselves.

Dr. Trivedi said that if Rahul Gandhi truly wants to understand what "surrender" means, he should look into his own past.

·      Just two years ago, while abroad, Rahul gandhi had said, “Why are the protectors of democracy like America and Europe silent, and why are they not intervening in India?” This statement was nothing but a surrender of India’s sovereignty.

·      On 15 July 2011, Rahul Gandhi said, “It is impossible to completely control terrorism.”—this was an ideological surrender before terror.

·      After the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Congress lead UPA government stated at Sharm El-Sheikh that the composite dialogue would not be affected—this was a diplomatic surrender before a terrorist mindset.

·      In 1995, during the tenure of the Narasimha Rao government, India postponed its nuclear test after receiving just one phone call—this was a surrender of scientific capability.

·      Despite capturing 93,000 Pakistani POWs in 1971, why was the PoK region surrendered?

·      Why was the 160 km Chhamb sector, despite being won, handed back? Why was the 13,000 sq km area in Pakistan’s Punjab and Sindh returned?

·      Why were 54 Indian soldiers not repatriated, were they surrendered too?

·      After capturing Haji Pir Pass in 1965, why was it returned when the Indian Army was just 20 km from Lahore?

·      What all did India surrender in 1962? Nehru’s letter to US President Kennedy on November 19, 1962, declassified in 2010, reveals he asked for American pilots to run the Indian Air Force.

·      In 1960, 80% of Indus water was handed to Pakistan, a surrender of water resources.

·      In 1948, a large part of Kashmir was surrendered, and in 1947, one-third of India was surrendered to the Muslim League.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi, while recounting the Congress party’s long history, took a sharp dig at Rahul Gandhi, saying that Rahul, his party, and his family have turned the timeline of independent India into a series of political surrenders. They may say what they want about Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, but this nation will never bend down to anyone. Maybe Congress did, maybe its leaders did, but this is Bharat, a country that has withstood centuries of invasions while preserving its culture, spirit, and pride. India is a nation that has been targeted thousands of times, yet still stands strong, undefeated and moving forward with confidence. That’s the truth. That’s India’s character. And that is what Congress refuses to accept.

Dr. Trivedi said that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is like a lion of Bharat Mata, for whom a Sanskrit saying fits perfectly:

"नाभिषेको न संस्कार: सिंहस्य क्रियते मृगैः ।

विक्रमार्जितराज्यस्य स्वयमेव मृगेंद्रता॥"

Which means, ‘a lion does not need a coronation or training; his strength alone makes him the king of the jungle.’ In the same way, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji is the lion of Bharat Mata, hence, our Narendra is the Mrigendra of Mother India. On the other hand, the Congress family’s history is filled with instances of surrender, which are marked all over the calendar of independent India. There’s one line that fits perfectly for Rahul Gandhi, ‘Be it by habit, nature, mischief, restlessness, or cunning, speak against the Prime Minister, the government, or the BJP,’ this is still tolerable. But if they lie about India, its pride, or its armed forces, that is absolutely intolerable. Dr. Trivedi concluded by saying “Woh pairvi to jhooth ki karta chala gaya, bas uska chehra utarta chala gaya. (He kept advocating lies, and with each word, his mask kept slipping away.)
