Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday. During the conference, Dr. Trivedi criticized the Aam Aadmi Party for its irresponsible and anarchic behaviour, citing multiple instances of violence and corruption, including the misuse of government residences and funds. He questioned AAP's actions during the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct and accused them of exploiting government resources for personal gain.

Dr. Trivedi remarked that with the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for the elections in Delhi, the truth of corruption is gradually being uncovered before the public. At the same time, it is becoming clear how political decorum can be shattered and how political ethics can be compromised to shield one's corruption. The events and the crude display by Aam Aadmi Party leaders, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, today cannot conceal the truth. No matter how much they try, they cannot protect the Sheesh Mahal, which stands as a symbol of Arvind Kejriwal's luxury and a museum of his indulgence. The undeniable truth is that the people of Delhi were shamelessly looted, and this Sheesh Mahal was transformed into a repository of various luxury items. They cannot escape this reality. What they have done to avoid this is a blatant display of political arrogance, unruliness, and chaos, which is in line with the natural characteristics of the Aam Aadmi Party. Creating chaos is the natural characteristic of the Aam Aadmi Party, and for this reason, the Hon'ble Prime Minister referred to them as a ‘AAP-da'.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi pointed out that in October 2012, Arvind Kejriwal became the only former Chief Minister of India who publicly cut electricity lines, showcasing his tendency for creating chaos. Even during the most difficult times, including emergencies, the BJP never staged protests on Independence Day or Republic Day. However, in 2014, the Aam Aadmi Party not only protested during the Republic Day parade but also threatened to fill Rajpath with demonstrators. On 5^th March 2014, AAP launched an attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party's former office on Ashok Marg using sticks, with members of the AAP Central Working Committee involved. On 19^th February 2018, physical violence took place with the Chief Secretary inside the Chief Minister's residence. On 13^th May 2024, physical violence occurred involving Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal inside the CM's residence, and on 8^th January 2025, the PWD Minister was commenting about the Chief Minister's residence.

Dr. Trivedi questioned the Aam Aadmi Party, asking if there was even an ounce of truth in their statements, why were they waiting for the Model Code of Conduct for Delhi assembly election? Until yesterday, the PWD Minister had control over everything. The people of Delhi clearly understand that this is AAP's helplessness, or a spectacle. The way AAP leaders have been seen threatening government employees is undoubtedly an insult to both Delhi and central government workers, and it aligns with AAP's tendency for chaos, as seen when they had physical altercations with the Chief Secretary and their own party MP. The BJP wants to make it clear that everything the Aam Aadmi Party has done today is a glaring example of their irresponsible, irrational, and anarchic behavior.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi raised two points: First, he questioned whether it is not true that Chief Minister Atishi had proposed two new residences, one on Rajnivas Road and the other on Daryaganj Road. Secondly, this is a direct violation of the rules, as if a government residence is allotted to someone, it cannot be transferred to another person directly; technically, the department takes possession first before transferring it to someone else. BJP MPs have also taken possession of their residences from the Central PWD, not from the previous MPs residing there. In the same way, how could they claim that they directly handed it over to them?

Dr. Trivedi remarked that the AAP government was in power for such a long time; why did they not issue an order declaring it as the official residence of the Chief Minister during those 10 years? Otherwise, they should show proof that it is the official residence of the Chief Minister. The CM has been allotted two residences, but they have not provided any clarification about that. They are lying about it being the CM's official residence.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi questioned whether the PWD minister was unaware of the purchase of chairs worth ₹8,000 each, which is 40 times the market price? These purchases are reflected in the bills. According to the Delhi Financial Services Rule 2019, any purchase proposal above ₹10 crore must be sent to the LG for approval. However, it should be noted how cleverly the bills were kept just below the ₹10 crore mark. On 1st September 2020, the bill amounted to ₹8 crore; on 22nd January 2021, it amounted to ₹9 crore 9 lakh; on 29th June, it was ₹9 crore 34 lakh; and one expenditure even amounted to ₹9 crore 99 lakh. All these attempts were made to ensure that no bill crossed the ₹10 crore limit, thereby avoiding the need to send it to the LG for approval.

Dr. Trivedi stated that one question that should be clearly raised is why AAP leaders wanted to enter the CM residence. Did they intend to misplace anything from the house, especially since the place has been under investigation? In the past, there have been instances where items were taken or uprooted from former CMs' residences. Was this an act of frustration and anger from AAP? It is evident that AAP is sensing their defeat in the Delhi elections; otherwise, their panic, anxiety, and outburst would not be reflected in their behaviour. AAP, which entered politics claiming to reject government facilities, is now entirely focused on bungalows. The ugly display of corruption in the 'Sheesh Mahal' by AAP has made the people of Delhi feel cheated, and they will respond appropriately.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi expressed that the BJP is fully committed to exposing AAP's corruption in front of the public and will not allow their deceit and propaganda to succeed, as the people of Delhi have seen their real face.
