Sushma Swaraj to lead "Andaman Yatra" on September 21
Mass protests all over country from Sept. 21 to 25
By our special correspondent
After her honourable release from prison on Sept 6, the
former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharati will undertake the Hubli
to Jalianwalabagh (Amritsar) Yatra from Sept. 10 to 25, while senior leader
Sushma Swaraj will lead the Andaman Satyagraha on Sept. 21. Workers from
all over the country at district headquarters will organize protest rallies
from Sept. 21 to 25.
Sadhvi Uma Bharati, who was arrested by the Karnataka Police
in the 1994 national flag hoisting incident at the Idgah Maidan, Hubli,
will lead the yatra across north Kantaka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh,
Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab in order to uphold the dignity of the national
flag, the tricolour.
Shrimati Swaraj and other workers of the party will lead
the Andaman satyagraha as a mark of protest against the removal of the
plaque on Veer Savarkar from the Swatantrya Jyot installed at the Cellular
Jail, Port Blair, on August 9.
The mass protests will feature both the issues, handed over
to the BJP by the Congress in the last one month, said to be to uphold
their brand of "secular" polity.
These decisions were taken by the central office bearers
of the party who met in Bangalore on September 8 to decide on the course
of action after the release of Uma Bharati from detention and the flip-flop
of the Congress Party over the Savarkar issue.
Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, was also present
in at this meeting.
(By the time this issue is released, the agitations
have already been launched-Editor).
