Manmohan - a PM without authority: Mahajan
From Our Correspondent

BJP General Secretary Shri Pramod Mahajan has described Manmohan as
a perfect example of "full of responsibility without authority" and Sonia as "full of authority without responsibility". He made the comments while addressing the inaugural function of the year-long silver jubilee celebrations of the Nagaland State BJP Unit at Dimapur.

Shri Mahajan termed the Congress and Left alliance as 'opportunistic', 'unholy' that posed a grave threat to the country. He described the UPA government as "a foreign ideology with a foreign lady". Shri Mahajan said that BJP believes in "genuine secularism" and was against the policy of appeasement. He also paid tributes to pioneer BJP leader of the State, Late Shri NC Zeliang.

Turning to influx of illegal Bangladeshis in the State, Shri Mahajan cautioned that if stringent measures were not taken, then in ten years time, Nagas would become a minority in their own State. The fight against illegal migrants should not be viewed from communal, but a national angle, he added.

On the recent hike in fuel prices, Shri Mahajan said that India could not control the rise of fuel prices in the international arena. However, he was of the firm conviction that the tax levied on fuel could be minimised. He said that the Central government was presently imposing a tax of 65% on fuel prices.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland State BJP Unit adopted a few resolutions. While fully supporting the on going peace process and the dialogue presently taking place between the Centre and NSCN, the Nagaland BJP has asked the UPA to expedite the peace process. It has reiterated its demand for early withdrawal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the State of Nagaland and the North East region as per the unequivocal demand of the people. The BJP has also appealed to the Congress led UPA government at the Centre to release the funds under the Prime Minister's Development Package so that the 'developmental process in the State is not halted and hampered'.

On the occasion, BJP General Secretary (Org) Shri Sanjay Joshi, State BJP President Shri MC Konyak, BJP National vice-president and NE incharge Shri TC Gehlot, State agriculture minister Dr. TM Lotha, Nagaland State incharge Shri NC Borkataky, Zonal Organising Secretary Shri V Satish, Mahila Prabhari, Nagaland, Dr. Manjushree Pathak, BJP MLA Shri Mukip Babu (Arunachal), Six State BJP MLAs, All district Presidents, Mandal Presidents, frontal Chiefs, State executive and Council members and State office bearers attended the meetings.
