BJP
National President Shri Rajnath Singh has appointed Dr. Satyanarayan
Jatia as President of Madhya Pradesh unit of BJP and Shri Radha Mohan
Singh has President of Bihar State BJP. Their brief introduction are
given below.
Dr.
Satyanarayan Jatia
The
newly appointed MP BJP President, Dr. Satyanarayan Jatia, is a popular
leader and an eminently qualified scholar. Born to Shri Nathulal and
Smt. Rukmini Devi on February 4, 1946 in Javad in Neemach district,
in 1951 at the tender age of six he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak
Sangh. After primary education in Javad, he went to Malhashram (Indore)
for higher secondary education and completed his college studies from
Neemach in 1966. Afterwards he joined Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh and held
various responsible positions. In 1972 he was appointed the Secretary
(Organisation) Bharatiya Jana Sangh for Bhopal and Shajapur districts
and later also of Bhartiya Yuva Sangh.
In
1975 he was elected to the MP State Assembly and during the Emergency
was detained under MISA till 1977.
He
has been elected as a Member of Lok Sabha from Ujjain for the 7th
time in a row since 1980 and from that year has also been a member
of the BJP National Executive. From 1984 till 1998 he has been President
of BJP Urban and Rural district of Ujjain, State General Secretary
and Vice-President of MP BJP, National General Secretary, President
of BJP SC Morcha and Secretary of BJP Parliamentary Party.
In
1998, Dr. Jatia was appointed as a Cabinet Minister with the portfolio
of Labour, Urban Development and Poverty Eradication, Social Justice
Ministries.
Dr.
Jatia has written a poetry book “Alakh Satyaj”. His doctoral thesis
was on rural life and area of study was integral humanism, religion
and philosophy.
Shri
Radha Mohan Singh
Bihar
State Unit’s new BJP President, Shri Radha Mohan Singh, has represented
the Motihari constituency in Bihar Legislative Assembly three times.
An RSS swayamsevak since his childhood, he later joined Akhil Bharatiya
Vidyarthi Parishad.
While
studying for his graduation, Shri Singh also functioned as Secretary
of Bharatiya Jana Sangh’s Madhuban unit. In 1970, he was made the
district Secretary Organisation.
From
1977 to 1980, he was Janata Party’s district General Secretary and
after formation of BJP was made the local Organisation Secretary at
Muzaffarpur centre in north Bihar. He made his mark as the State President
of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in undivided Bihar and in 1991-93
as State BJP General Secretary. During the Ayodhya Movement, he headed
the kar-seva in Bihar. For 10 years from 1993 to 2003 he was the Secretary
of Bihar State Election Committee. Till recently, he was the Vice-President
of Kisan Morcha and BJP State Vice-President.
In
1970, Shri Radha Mohan Singh was imprisoned for participating in the
Jana Sangh satyagrah for the liberation of Bangladesh and later in
1974, jailed in Bhagalpur during the ‘Dissolve State Assembly’ Movement.
During
the Emergency, he was confined to Motihari Jail when he protested
against the arrest of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Motihari and Shri
Advani in Samastipur.
Proving
his mettle in parliamentary politics, he has struggled for the cause
of Bihar in Lok Sabha.
