BJP Parivartan Rally

Jaitley calls for change
in next elections
From Our Correspondent

BJP National General Secretary Shri Arun Jaitley has given a call for a “change” in Punjab as the border State had been turned into a ‘‘drinking joint” by the Amarinder Singh government. “There is a liquor vend in every nook and corner of Punjab”, he said.

Shri Jaitley was addressing a ‘Parivartan Rally’ organized by Punjab BJP on June 4 at Amritsar.

In the last year of its rule the Congress government of Capt Amarinder Singh has no achievement to boast of, except opening of liquor vends in collusion with the liquor mafia, he alleged. He called upon the people to throw off a government which promotes unhealthy practices in the State.

Alleging that the Amrinder government has been a failure on all fronts, Shri Jaitley said during the last four years of its rule the government had tried its best to silence the voice of the opposition by following the policy of political vindictiveness against its political opponents. Turning to the UPA government, senior BJP leader said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was a “confused man” and failed to control the prices of essential commodities.
