Swami Ramdev, a much revered Sanskrit scholar and Yog-guru, is well-versed in Ayurvedic Sciences and Vedic Philosophy. His practical approach to yogabhyas and discourses on Indian cultural values have inspired crores of followers all over the world to adopt a fulfilling, healthier lifestyle. He is a living symbol of Hindutva, spreading the message of Hindu culture and wisdom.

He is a scholar who teaches subjects like Ashtadhyayi, Mahabhashya, Upanishads and the six systems of Indian Philosophy. He established Divya Yog Mandir Trust in Haridwar for spreading his teachings about health and spiritual knowledge. His Divya Yog Pharmacy has distributed medicine to lakhs of ailing Indians. In the Divya Yog camps organised by him, countless believers have taken advantage of his guidance for a healthier life. His famous instructions in the science of Pranayam have cured several diseases declared incurable by other systems of medicine. The Gurukul established by Swamiji in Haryana, imparts education in Indian culture and Philosophy and modern subjects like Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science.

There is a proverb in Ayurved—”When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need”. Putting this into practice Swami Ramdevji taught the benefits of a sensible diet and carried out tireless social campaigns against multi-national companies producing junk foods. This led to laws being made abroad which banned sale of these harmful products outside schools. Naturally, these large companies did not like to see their profits shrinking in India too.

Swamiji’s Ayurvedic medicines give health to crores of sick people and at the same time are also reducing the hefty profits being made by pharmaceutical companies. According to figures of last year, the consumption of allopathic medicines has fallen sharply.

Keeping these facts in view, it is clear why these powerful companies would like to stop Swami Ramdevji from spreading the ancient Hindu wisdom about health and effective Ayurvedic medicine.

The baseless accusations by Smt. Brinda Karat against Swamiji are a direct attack on Indian culture and Hindu identity. Swamiji has dedicated his life to promoting good health and spreading the essence of Hindutva through his teachings. He has inspired crores of followers to adopt vegetarianism and practise yogic exercises.

Brinda Karat’s shameless attack is an attempt to undermine years of devotion and selfless service by Swamiji. Her caluminous campaign is nothing but an unscrupulous political trick for cheap popularity. Her wild allegations appear to be part of a calculated plot to discredit Swamiji and deal a blow to the essence of Hindutva.

Brinda Karat is not some junior party member, she in the CPI(M) Politburo. Her important position in the party is second only to that of her husband Prakash Karat—head of CPI(M). That is why her vitriolic attack on Swami Ramdev assumes ominous political significance.

Swamiji’s observation about her motive seem valid. He said openly that she is acting at the behest of multi-national companies whose profits were harmed when people started adopting a healthier lifestyle. Allegedly, these companies have paid her large sums of money to carry out a jihad against Indian culture.

Being a fearless Yogi, Swami Ramdevji immediately declared that everyone was free to examine all his medicines, his pharmacy, his Ashram and even his body at any time, by all means possible. He has no secrets and everything connected to him is transparent and available for examination.

Smt. Brinda’s attack roused the passions of Indians all over the world. The strength of faith of crores of Indians was demonstrated in the past one week. “A lie has no feet to stand on” was proved by the protests of Swamiji’s followers all over the country. Even those who never came into contact with Swamiji felt insulted by her audacious remarks about him and Ayurved medicines, and spoke out loudly against this communist conspiracy.

A loud and clear message has been sent out to the communist puppets of foreign forces that Hindutva cannot be crushed, Indian culture cannot be erased and the Swadeshi sentiment cannot be subdued.

Smt. Brinda’s attack is yet another front in the war on India’s cultural integrity like the malicious campaign against His Holiness the Shankaracharya, restricting the flow of sacred Ganga under the Tehri Dam project and attempts to declare the AMU as a minority institution. CPI(M) has been isolated today and its divisive agenda stands exposed. The nation stands united to fight these divisive forces.
