Pramod
Mahajan Appointed General Secretary:Uma Bharati Madhya Pradesh Campaign

BJP
President Venkaiah Naidu on January 30 appointed Shri Pramod Mahajan,
former Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, as the
General Secretary of the Party.He has also been appointed secretary of
the Central Parliamentary Board of the party as also of the Central Election
Committee.
These
announcements were made by Shri Naidu at a media conference at the BJP
headquarters on Jan. 30.
At
the same conference, Shri Naidu also announced the appointment of Sadhvi
Uma Bharati as the Manager of the Election Management and campaign in
Madhya Preadesh which is to go the polls for a new State Assembly by November
this year.
These
are the first appointments made after both Shri Mahajan and Sadhvi Uma
Bharati quit the Union Cabint on Jan. 29 for undertaking party work in
view the State Assembly elections in eight States excluding Himachal Pradesh,which
is going to the polls on Feb. 26.
Others
who resigned from the Council of Ministers are : Shri Jana Krishmanurti,
Shri V.P.Goel, Dr.Reeta Verma, Shri Nikhil Choudhary, Dr. Raman Singh,
and Shrimati Vasundhara Raje Scindia.
Vasundhra
Raje has already been appointed the president of the Rajasthan unit of
the Party and Dr.Raman Singh, president of the Chhattisgarh unit of the
BJP.
