Country paying for
sins of UPA: Advaniji
From Our Correspondent

India is suffering for the sins of corruption and vote-bank politics indulged in by the present UPA government. Everyday something unusual is happening since UPA government took charge at the Centre. That is why the BJP will oppose all such wrong policies of the Central government both in Parliament and outside.” This is what Shri L.K. Advani, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said while inaugurating the ‘Vasant Smriti’ Bhavan, new office of Mumbai BJP. Shri Pramod Mahajan, BJP National General Secretary presided over the function.

Shri Advani said the Congress-led government at the Centre has spearheaded ‘Muslim appeasement’ as a political gimmick for the vote-bank politics and is itself the fountain-head of corruption. Branding Dr. Manmohan Singh as “I don’t know Prime Minister” Shri Advani said he is the weakest among all the Prime Ministers the country has had so far. He regretted that we remain backward even after 58 years of independence.

Shri Advani quoted some experts from Germany who had opined that major cause of world’s problems is the curse of corruption and as long as India does not understand this basic cause and puts a stop to it completely, the country cannot progress.

They have also observed that vote-bank politics is also one of the great hurdles to our development. The UPA government by conducting headcount of Muslims in the army created Hindu-Muslim divide all over the country which is a cause of worry for all, Shri Advani added.

Speaking on the occasion, National General Secretary, Shri Pramod Mahajan recalled the contribution of late BJP leaders like Shri Vasant Rao Bhagwat, Ramdas Naik and all BJP karyakartas by dint of whose efforts the party has reached this stage. Shri Mahajan dedicated “ Vasant Smiriti Bhavan” to all those karyakartas who had sacrificed everything for the party. He has also announced that the biggest hall of this Bhavan will be named after late Shri Ramdas Naikji, former BJP Mumbai president.

Other leaders present on the occasion were Shri Ved Prakash Goel, BJP National Treasurer, State BJP President, Shri Nitin Gadkari, BJP leader in the state assembly, Shri Gopinath Munde, Mumbai BJP President and MLA, Shri Prakash Mehta, Leader of Opposition in the legislative council, Shri Pandurang Fundukar, former Union ministers Shri Ram Naik, Smt. Jayanti Ben Mehta, former MP Shri Kirit Somaya, Maharashtra BJP General Secretary (Organisation), Shri Raghunath Kulkarni, National Secretary, Shri Bhai Girikar, Maharashtra BJP General Secretary and MLA, Shri Vinod Tabre and a number of officials of Mumbai BJP. Vasant Rao Patwardhan, the veteran leader of the party had been specially invited on this occasion. The wife of late Ramdas Naik and former MLA Shri Jaishri Naik with his son were also present.
