New Delhi: 17 December, 2012 Former union minister & All India general secretary of BJP Vijay Goel today said that the law and order situation in the capital has been reduced to shambles. Commenting on the gang rape of a working girl in Vasant Vihar area of Delhi on Sunday in a public transport bus he said that centre and Delhi government have made a mess out of the whole law and order situation in Delhi further worsening it with every passing day.
The spiral of increasing law and order graph with ever-increasing incidents of rape, theft, murders, robberies dacoity etc are staring at people of Delhi blatantly with criminals realizing that the callous ness in collaboration among various departments will always provide a loophole for the criminal to escape the law. He said that he would be meeting with the union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and will be demanding immediate stringent action against the culprit. An example should be set which should act as a deterrent to the criminals.
Goel said that even if we go by the statistics of Delhi Police so far in this year there have been 635 cases of rape, 548 cases of murder and 483 cases of robbery, 3385 cases of kidnapping etc in the capital. The list can go on but one is amazed that these incidents merely remain numbers & that serious efforts towards their eradication are non existent as far as these two governments are concerned.
Goel said that by ignoring or by not doing enough towards the worsening law and order situation, the Delhi government is ridiculing with the lives of its citizens. For all that goes wrong the CM of Delhi Sheila Dikshit blames its people and not her governance and administration.
when the unfortunate incident of murder of journalist Soumya Vishvanathan had taken place, Sheila Dikshit had passed the diktat to the women in the city not to travel at night, seemingly this time around too she is going to tell them not to watch movies, not to travel by auto rickshaws and public transport etc. rather sooner than later women will be told not to venture out of their homes because the Delhi government is not capable of protecting them and that Delhi has been driven back into medieval times once again.
