Govt to face dire consequences if pre-1953 position considered for Kashmir - Tarun Vijay
23rd June 2012 - New Delhi-On the occasion of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s 59th martyrdom day, floral tributes were offered to him in at Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation’s office situated in the premises of the BJP Central office. Shri O.P. KOhli, central office in charge and ex MP, Shri Tarun Vijay, MP and National Spokesperson, and Hon. Director of the foundation were amongst those who paid tributes to Dr. Mookerjee. Shri O.P. Kohli said that Dr. Mokerjee’s martyrdom still inspires millions of patriots to sacrifice their lives for the sake of motherland. It was his sacrifice that made Pt. Nehru’s govt. to rethink about their Kashmir policy and extend severl central laws in J&K removing the obnoxious terms of Sadre Riyasat and Vazire Azam.
Shri Tarun Vijay gave details of the house, which was used by the then Sheikh Abdullah govt. to keep Dr. Mookerjee in jail. He said that unfortunately no efforts were made after his martyrdom to keep the house intact and procure his last diary. Now the house has been razed to ground and a new housing colony built over it. He said that he had raised the issue of the missing last diary of Dr Mookerjee in Rajya Sabha but the govt. replied that the matter is being enquired into. He said that The Mother of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry had clearly stated in one of her talks with devotees that Dr. Syama Prasad was killed in Kashmir. Shri Vijay said that Dr. Syama Prasad was an ardent devotee of Sri Aurobindo and had complete faith in undivided Bharat. His sacrifice for the integration of India is being again violated by the interlocutor’s report that seeks to put the clock back and revert to the pre-1953 position. He said that BJP will never allow such a anti-national step to be taken and warned of dire consequence if pre-1953 position was considered for J&K.
Workers of the Foundation including BJP office participated.
