Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Amit Shah who is on a three-day tour of Odisha to mobilize booth level workers, embarked upon a door-to-door campaign on the second day, today, in Binjharpur block of Areigaon (Baruneshwar) under Jajpur district and pasted party stickers on the houses. He shared with the people the achievements of the Modi government in the past three years and distributed booklets to the people enlisting the achievements. After the door-to-door campaign, Shri Shah addressed the party booth workers and asked them to ensure BJP’s two-third majority in 2019 election for development of Odisha. Later,at Panikoili in Jajpur district, Shri Shah addressed booth workers from six districts of Odisha. Before this, the BJP President offered prayers at the historical Biraja Temple to seek welfare of the people of Odisha. Enroute to Jajpur from Bhubaneswar, people and BJP workers lined up on both sides of the road to greet him and he was given grand reception at many places. At Panikoili, addressing booth-workers from six districts, Shri Shah said that in his prayers at Maa Biraja Devi temple, he has taken an oath to ensure a two-third majority for BJP in coming assembly elections to install a BJP government in the State and he will return to the feet of Maa Biraja Devi for a darshan after accomplishing the task. He said he has been overwhelmed by the love, affection and support of people of Odisha towards BJP and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the past two days of his tour of Odisha. This has given him confidence that in 2019, the BJP will wrest power in the land of Maha Prabhu Jagannath with a two-third majority in the polls. “Odisha mein Abki Baar, Bhajapa Sarkar” (This time it will a BJP government in Odisha), he said.

The BJP President said Prime Minister led BJP government at the Centre has recently completed three years. The country has witnessed in the past ten years a Congress led UPA government tainted with a number of corruption charges and scams. There had been allegations of scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore during the UPA regime. Targeting Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Shri Shah said that Rahul often questions the achievements of the BJP government at the Centre in the last three years.

“I want to tell him that there has been no corruption charge against Prime Minister Narendra Modi government in the past three years. For ten years, the Congress had given a prime minister to the country who used to maintain silence on many issues and people had to wait for months to hear his voice. Today the country has Shri Narendra Modi as prime minister who joins the people in sorrow and happiness and is always ready to give his advice on all issues.”

Commenting on the manner the Biju Janata Dal government was being run in Odisha for the past 17 years, the BJP President said that he is not hesitant to say that Odisha has lagged behind in development and left far behind as compared to progress in other areas of the country and the world. He said that in Odisha, villages have no electricity, hospitals have no doctors and no facility of 108 ambulance and no jobs for the youth.

He said the youth of Odisha have given their hard work for development of the country. “What is the reason that this youth power has not been utilized for development of Odisha? Answer to this should come from the BJD government.

The BJP wants that the youth of Odisha must get ample employment opportunities within the state. He asked the Odisha government why it had failed to provide even drinking water or rice at cheaper rates to the people in the past 17 years even as the Centre has given enough financial assistance to the state. He said the whole country was shaken after witnessing the incident in Dana Manjhi. “Why is there such a situation in Odisha,” he asked Shri Shah said the in States led by BJP-led governments, several new avenues have been created for employment. The BJP can turn Odisha into the most developed state in five years after coming to power. He said Odisha is a state with rich natural resources. The state needs good governance and a government which delivers. It will not take much time to turn around the condition of the state. The BJP President said that ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government has come at the Centre, the BJP has won almost all elections. Now elections in Odisha are scheduled in 2019, the BJP will form a government in the state by winning a two-third majority in the election. The people have decided to launch a BJP government in the state. He said the unprecedented victory of BJP in Panchayat elections in the state has already given sleepless night to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Earlier, BJD was in power in 28 of the 30 Zila Panchayats which has now been reduced to 16,where as the BJP has registered full majority in 8 Zila Panchayats and won more than 350 seats. He said the BJP has set a target of winning 120 seats in the coming Assembly election and “we will not take rest until accomplishing the target,” which is aimed at forming a government with a two-third majority, he said.

Shri Shah said ever since the BJP government led by Shri Narendra Modi has come to power, several schemes for development of Odisha have been launched. He said that in 14th Finance Commission, the Modi government in the past three years have allocated about Rs1,26,000 crore more. Besides Rs.14,000 crore has allocated for development of the railway network, Rs 2000 crore for development of waterways, Rs 1791 crore for Pandit Deendayal Upadhayay Rural Electrification Scheme, Rs 2000 crore towards District Mineral Fund, Rs 450 Crore for Soil Health Card, Rs 532 crore for PM Housing scheme and Rs 380 crore for development of smart cities. In transparent auction Odisha has got Rs 14,500 crore more.

Besides this, five new medical colleges have been opened in Odisha in addition to three other medical colleges which have been upgraded. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given Rs 393120 crore, or about Rs 4 lakh crore, to Odisha in three years through the Petroleum Ministry, and for road construction and other schemes. He said whether the prime minister allocates financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh crore or Rs 8 lakh crore, there will be no development in the state, until the BJP forms a government in the state.

Addressing booth worker at Areigaon, the BJP President said that he has come here not as president of the party but an active member of Odisha BJP to strengthen the party at booth-level. He said that after seeing the kind of love and faith the people of Odisha for BJP, he can say with certainty the BJP will form a government in Odisha with a two-third majority in the 2019 election. He said having a BJP government government in Odisha and welfare of villagers, poor, farmers and tribals alongwith development of Odisha are inter-connected. He said the people of Odisha are with BJP and therefore BJP will form a government in Odisha by winning 120 seats,two-third majority, in the coming assembly election in the state.
