BJP President Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated the E-registration of delegates for the forthcoming meeting of its National Council slated for February 18, 19, 2010 by having him registered as a delegate with the clique of a mouse. The national council is to meet in Indore and about 5000 delegates are expected to participate in this crucial meeting, the first after Gadkari took over last December.

After E-registering himself to mark the inauguration at the Party headquarters here, Gadkari said that technology also has a key role in social and political sectors and BJP has its own plans to use technology for wider political mobilization and opinion making. He said that in the days to come Party will facilitate E-membership and also have an elaborate e-learning programme launched for Party rank and file via the Party web site. He said that it is now a common knowledge that internet has become most preferred medium of social activism of the next generation.  He also congratulated BJP's Indore unit for having facilitating e-registration of delegates.

Any one, who is in the list of expected delegates for this Meeting can use this facility as it will prove to be saving both, time as well as cost.

It may be pointed out that this is perhaps for the first time that a Political Convention will be using e-registration usually practiced only in the corporate events.
