The issue of large-scale illegal mining and rampant destruction of forest land in the state of Orissa has been taken up seriously by the national leadership of BJP. The lapses, involvement and negligence by the Orissa state's official machinery in this matter is becoming obvious with each passing day. The State Government has failed to discharge its responsibility in curbing illegal mining activities in Orissa. Orissa BJP state unit has taken up this issue with all sincerity seriousness and raised the matter repeatedly in the Assembly and outside.

 

Following discussions with party leaders from the State National President, Shri Rajnath Singh, today decided to send a delegation of party MPs to examine matters on the spot in Keonjhar and Sunddergarh districts. The delegation will be led by Sh S.S. Ahluwalia, Deputy leader (Rajya Sabha) and Shri Ganesh Singh, MP from Madhya Pradesh and Saroj Pandey, MP from Chhattisgarh will be the members of team.
