DEBATE IN PARLIAMENTForeword It has been more than six months since the present Government came into existence. Umpteen numbers of promises were made by the UPA during E-2004 but on most of the fronts this Government has been smuggling to make a mark. Even the threat to India's internal security is being ignored. Terrorist activities are on the rise. Infiltration from Bangladesh has increased manifold. Yet, The UPA Government seems to be clueless and dealing with issues of internal security keeping vote bank politics in mind. The only anti-terrorist law we had, the POTA became victim of vote bank politics. It was repealed in the last session of Parliament. Former Union Law Minister and BJP leader Shri Arun Jaitley opposed the move in his impressive speech in Parliament. He clearly said the step was a "Compromise on India's national security." The other former minister and BJP leader Shri Arun Shourie also blasted UPA policies on national security in Parliament. His main concern was increasing infiltration from Bangladesh and the Government's inability to counter this serious threat. BJP publication has decided to publish the speeches made by Shri Arun Jaitley and Shri Arun Shourie in a booklet form. We hope this endeavour would be useful for the leaders and workers of the BJP. It will also enlighten those who are concerned about the security of this country. Publisher |
