| Press Statement issued by Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, On Myanmar 1. The Bharatiya Janata Party is deeply concerned at the turmoil and unrest prevailing in Myanmar and we hope that the regime would respond positively to resolve the issues which has caused a large scale upsurge. The BJP strongly disapproves of violence which has been unleashed on peaceful protesters. The Government in Myanmar should refrain from harsh repressive measures and should endeavour to restore normalcy at the earliest. Priority should be given to ensure equitable settlement of pending issues and all contentious concerns should be settled through amicable negotiations. On Assam 2. The Bharatiya Janata Party is deeply concerned at the unabated killings of hindi Speeking migrants in Assam which has been unleashed by ULFA militants and yesterdays Bomb blast killing half a dozen and injuring more then thirty confirms the complete indifference of the UPA government and the Congress led state Government in Assam. The attack earlier in January this year had also targeted mainly poor labourers of Bihar killing more then 45 persons and the spate of insensitive and brutal massacre continues unabated. The deafening silence maintained by Laloo Prasad Yadav who extends a crucial alliance support to the Congress led UPA government is highly questionable at a time when thousands of people from the Hindi heartland are being killed brutally.
