Statement issued by BJP National Spokesperson and MP, On Alva’s remark The statement of Margaret Alva, the General Secretary of the Congress Party is a stunning confession of an insider on issue of distribution of assembly tickets which forms the core of parliamentary system in a democracy. Not too long ago the Parliament had witnessed a “Cash for vote” scam when the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had sought a vote of confidence and now we are seeing “Cash for Ticket Scam” where the witness to the alleged charge is Margaret Alva herself, a senior Congress leader. This amply displays the state of affairs in the Congress Party. Protests by ABVP in Delhi University The Bharatiya Janata Party has taken note of the protest of ABVP activists in a Delhi University seminar and we certainly feel that the nature of protest should be more hygienic. But notably something serious which has emerged in the University community meeting organised by a particular group is the coming together of pseudo secular sympathisers and certain radical groups. More so the clean chit apparently is not so clean and there did exist several incriminating evidence which had resulted in Geelani’s conviction. His association with militants can’t be denied and one can simply say that he was just saved by the skin and the shroud of mistrust still prevails about him. The surcharged emotions of patriotic students can’t be simply ignored.
