Shri L.K. Advani, Leader of the Opposition (Lok Sabha), called on former General Secretary of the CPI(M) Shri Harkishan Singh Surjeet at Metro Hospital in Noida this morning and prayed for his speedy recovery.

He inquired about the condition of the 92-year-old communist leader from Dr. Purushottam Lal, head of the Cardiology Department, and Shri Joginder Sharma, Central Committee member of the CPI(M).

Shri Advani also telephonically spoke with Shri Sitaram Yechury, MP and Politburo Member of the CPI(M), and recalled his association with Shri Surjeet when the two were together in the Rajya Sabha and, later when the BJP and the CPIM) lent outside support to the National Front government headed by Shri V.P. Singh in 1989-90. “We pray for him,” he told Shri Yechury.
