Salient Points by BJP National President
Shri Rajnath Singh

AT HUBLI (KARNATAKA)

  • The people of Karnataka are today voting in the second phase of the ongoing Assembly elections. I have been campaigning in different parts of the State for the past ten days and have reached the conclusion that a pro-BJP wave is clearly visible in almost all parts of Karnataka.
  • The People of Karnataka are craving for a credible and stable government. Only the BJP has the eligibility and ability to meet their aspirations.
  • The BJP has captured the people's attention with an extensive campaign on various important national issues including terrorism, spiraling prices of essential commodities, prevailing agrarian crisis in the country and regional issues such as comprehensive development of the State and the politics of betrayal as practiced by certain political parties.
  • The BJP has taken a decisive lead in the first phase of the Karnataka Assembly elections and has emerged as the frontrunner among all political parties in the fray. The gap between the BJP and pother parties is going to widen even further in the second and third phase. I am confident that the BJP will get absolute majority and form the Government on its own strength.
  • We are contesting these elections with a clear vision and a firm resolve. Our vision is to transform Karnataka into a model state for good governance and development. We have resolved to form the government in Karnataka and serve the people selflessly.
  • If we assess the BJP and its Chief Ministerial candidate Shri B S Yedurappa on the parameters of credibility, stability, popularity and performance, they have left their opponents far behind.
  • The people in India feel that UPA Government has turned out be a faceless, spineless and directionless Government.
  • The UPA government has virtually failed on every front be it spiraling prices of essential commodities, increasing inflation or the internal security front.
  • The recent spurt in terrorist activities indicates that the UPA Government lacks the will-power to effectively counter the menace of terrorism.
  • I demand the UPA Government should come up with a comprehensive and integrated plan to deal with terrorism. I assure the Government that in the national interest, the BJP will whole heartedly support any such move that aims to conclusively crush the menace of terrorism.
  • On the one hand inflation is scaling upwards and on the other hand the popularity of the Congress government is sinking to new lows every day.
  • The people of Karnataka have a task on their hands. It is high time to get rid of the anti-people parties like the Congress and opportunists like the JDS and vote for a pro-development and pro-people party like the BJP.
  • I appeal to the people of Karnataka to cut across the caste and religious lines and extend their support to the BJP as it is the only all inclusive national party where every section of society including the religious minorities has a definite role to play.
  • The religious minorities should not be misguided by the false Congress propaganda.
  • The Congress has been using the minorities as an instrument in their pursuit of vote bank for the past six decades. But its real face has been exposed on many occasions.
  • The BJP is a party which firmly believes in justice to all and appeasement of none.
  • The minorities have been witness to the BJP led NDA rule at the Centre and they realized that the BJP is not against the minorities.
  • The BJP will follow the policy of Sarva Dharma Sambhav in Karnataka as well.
  • I hope that the people of Karnataka would not squander this opportunity presented to them. If they vote for the BJP they will ensure a peaceful and prosperous Karnataka in future.
