Condoles demise of Smt. Nirmala Deshpande

New Delhi

I deeply mourn the demise of veteran freedom fighter, renowned social activist and Rajya Sabha Member Sushri Nirmala Deshpande.

She was one of the prominent foot soldiers of non-violence in India. Fighting for marginalized and oppressed sections of the society was her passion. She devoted her life to selfless service and spreading the message and philosophy propagated by Mahatma Gandhi. Her entire life is an epitome of selfless service to the society.

I express my heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
