NATIONAL
DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE A meeting of the NDA was held today to discuss the situation arising out of the Jharkhand issue. The NDA believes that both the Legislature and the Judiciary are supreme in their own fields. However, the ultimate supremacy is of the Constitution. Both must subserve the purpose and goals enshrined in the Constitution. The role of the Central Government, the UPA, the Governor and the Protem Speaker of Jharkhand Assembly is extremely disturbing. The Constitution envisages governance by the majority and not the minority. The UPA, the Central Government, the Governor and the Protem Speaker of the Jharkhand Assembly have conspired to ignore the principle of majority rule inherent in the Constitution. When a majority party is treated like a minority and a minority party is put into governance it subverts the Constitution. Obviously, the Supreme Court would not be a silent spectator to this subversion. It is unfortunate that those who shamelessly maintain their eloquent silence on this subversion of democracy in Jharkhand are today disturbed over the remedies adopted to challenge this subversion. The NDA is concerned and disturbed over the "selective" anger of all such people.
