Statement of BJP National Vice President BJP National Vice President Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that the Centre should rush in adequate para military forces to contain the situation in the state and send a strong message to the separatist and anti-national forces to save the sovereignty of India and autonomy of Shri Amarnath Shrine. Any surrender on this issue would only spark off nation wide protests. Shri Naqvi caution that the Congress Government at center and Jammu and Kashmir against the direct or indirect revoking the transfer of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to ensure the survival of its Government or for the Vote Bank in the state saying any such step would tantamount to an absolute surrender before separatist and terrorist forces and compromising national unity, integrity and sovereignty. Shri Naqvi said that “the Congress party has made compromises several times in the past to save its Government in various parts of the country at grave costs to constitutional norms and national interests. Any such misadventure this time would be met with country wide resistance”. Shri Naqvi said that the reminding that the abduction of PDP leader and the then Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s daughter and subsequent surrender before the militants by the Indian state was the turning point in the state’s turbulent politics which strengthened militancy, Shri Naqvi also made a scathing attack on the PDP for attempting to tear apart the state’s fragile secular fabric. Shri Naqvi said that the current protests have also exposed the claims and statements of the political parties operating from the Kashmir valley that they favoured an early return of the lakhs of displaced Kashmiri Pandits. Shri Naqvi said that the transfer of land to the temple board is a golden opportunity to provide a healing touch to the minority Hindu community in the state. It would help build bridges of harmony and understanding between the people of Kashmir and the rest of the state and country, the senior BJP leader said while expressing deep regrets that instead the issue was being used to polarize the society by misleading the peace-loving people of Kashmir. He said undoubtedly the protests are being orchestrated by the Masters of these separatists outfits sitting across the border. Asking the Congress Governments, both at the Centre and the state, not to succumb before the machinations of the anti-national, anti-Indian forces, Shri Naqvi demanded that all steps should be taken to explain the facts of the matter to the people of Kashmir and ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims visiting the Holy cave shrine of Amarnath and the people of Jammu and other border areas. Shri Naqvi described the withdrawal of PDP from the government as a “joint political drama” enacted by the Congress and the PDP to distance themselves from the decision to allot land to SASB. Shri Naqvi said that the “joint ploy” of the coalition partners was just intended to keep the land transfer order under “wraps” fearing reprisals from the some separatist forces. (Shyam
