BJP National President Shri Rajnath Singh expressed his grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Shri Chandra Shekhar. Shri Rajnath Singh said that Shri Chandra Shekhar was not just the former Prime Minister of India but was also a towering personality, who was deeply committed to the principles and political ideology that he was committed towards. He enjoyed respect of leaders across the political spectrum.

Shri Singh said that Shri Chandra Shekhar always upheld the parliamentary dignity and was a prolific orator. The country will always remember his contribution in the JP movement and struggle against the oppressions of emergency. He was not one who only chased the politics of power, but instead he struggled for the values in politics. His struggle and firm commitment have become a source of inspiration and outstanding example for Indian polity to emulate. In his demise the country has lost a great and ideal leader.
