| Press Statement issued by BJP National Spokesperson The Congress and Communist parties have both mastered the art of propagating deceit, lies and total lies. It is indeed ironical that both parties are constantly falsely accusing the BJP for crimes, which are actually clearly identified with their own parties. This can perfectly be described as "Ulta Chor, Kotwal Ko Datey". The recent statements of Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi and CPM leader Sh. Sitaram Yechury clearly confirm our charge. The BJP condemns both leaders for leveling baseless charges against the party. In a reported reply to the Election Commission on a notice for violation of Code of Conduct, Smt. Gandhi has once again accused the BJP and Sh. Narendra Modi as "Merchants of Fear and Death". The fifth flip-flop on, for whom this term was used, connotes utter confusion in the Congress camp. First, the Congress said that she did not utter this phrase at all. Then Congress explained that it was meant for police and not for Mr Modi. Then they came up with yet another explanation that it was meant for Mr Modi only. Later they clarified that it was for the system and not for Mr Modi. Now, they have finally replied that it was meant for both the system as well as Mr. Modi! The party, which is responsible for the worst communal carnage of Sikhs in 1984, the brutal killings and forced sterilisation during the 1975 emergency period, thousands of deaths of minorities in Bhagalpur riots, tacit understanding with Maoists in various states for electoral gains, and hundreds of fake encounters in Punjab certainly has no moral right to talk about and accuse others of human right violations. A CBI report that the CPM cadres are harassing and beating up witnesses of Nandigram violence, is yet another testimony of the total state complicity in suppressing the truth that needs to be unearthed. The BJP demands that the CBI enquiry requires full protection to be provided to the victims of Nandigram. This needs to be done by removing the local police from the area and put the area under the complete control of central forces till the enquiry is over. Unless such a step is initiated, the truth will never surface. The graves of victims, which have been unearthed is in itself a reason enough for such a tough action. Despite such a terrible track record, the CPM leader Sh. Sitaram Yechury has the audacity to falsely accuse the BJP for hobnobbing with and protecting Maoists! It must be remembered that it is the CPM, which brokered peace between the Maoists and Government in Nepal. The CPM also stands completely exposed when they surrendered to the Muslim fundamentalists in the case of Taslima similar to the Congress submission before these forces in Shahbano case.
