Criminal intentions behind new Master Plan, says BJP

Expressing grave concern over the resumption of sealing from tomorrow, the BJP Delhi Pradesh President, Dr Harsh Vardhan, today held the Congress fully responsible for it.

Addressing the media here, he said during the hearing of the PIL filed by the Delhi Pradesh Citizen Council, the amicus curiae appointed by the Supreme Court said if the new Master Plan was implemented in its present form then Delhi would become a chaotic city.

Without providing sufficient power, water, parking, transport, sewers and other basic amenities, the haste with which the Congress had implemented the new Master Plan with criminal intention would pose a serious danger to Delhi at the social and physical level.

Dr Harsh Vardhan claimed he had declared long ago that the new Master Plan was not for providing relief to the people but to befool them and implemented by the Congress in haste to take political advantage. The BJP had warned the people at that time that it would not provide any relief. Rather, Delhi would become an unplanned city without amenities, fully chaotic and where town planning would become a joke.

He further said that the way in which the Congress had declared the residential areas commercial without duly considering it and increased the floor area ratio of the entire plot even the planned areas of Delhi shall become slums.

He said the only way Delhi could be saved was by implementing the recommendations of Tejender Khanna Committee and Malhotra Committee.
