| Manmohan is the weakest Prime Minister: Advani BHOPAL: The country has seen many weak Prime Ministers but Manmohan Singh was proving to be the weakest, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani has said. He was speaking at the opening session of the State unit’s two-day training camp at Indore on Tuesday. According to him, when parties without majority came to power people felt on many occasions that even those ‘lacking moral courage’ had become Prime Ministers. The common perception was that some Prime Ministers were ‘weak and vulnerable.’ There were ‘weak Prime Ministers such as Charan Singh, Chandra Shekhar and H.D. Deve Gowda’ but the weakest of them all was Dr. Singh, Mr. Advani said.During the time of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, there were efforts to “destroy the democratic multi-party system in a bid to perpetuate family rule.” But Dr. Singh had “crossed all limits of sycophancy to serve Congress president Sonia Gandhi.” Mr. Advani said Ms. Gandhi was willing to become Prime Minister. She was stopped in her tracks as President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam asked her questions ‘to which she had no reply,’ and thus a ‘rubber-stamp Prime Minister was born.’Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, State BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar and general secretary Makhan Singh, State Ministers, Members of Parliament and MLAs were present. |
