BJP ups anti-terror ante GUWAHATI, July 19: The BJP has asked the UPA government to launch a global campaign to mount pressure on Bangladesh to dismantle all ‘‘anti-India’’ training camps of terrorists in that country.
BJP president Mr Rajnath Singh today said that the government should launch diplomatic campaign to create consensus among global community to pressurise Bangladesh. “I have information that more that 25,000 youth are undergoing training in that country,” the BJP president said. He demanded that vigil be mounted along the border with Bangladesh since fundamentalist elements had been using the frontier to enter the country from Bangladesh. “There is no point talking to both Bangladesh and Pakistan unless they commit to stop cross-border terrorism,” Mr Singh said demanding a global watch on Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence. “The ISI should be put under international surveillance because all terror attacks on India are sponsored and funded by the agency. It is either in league or has links with anti-India terrorists based in Bangladesh, terrorists from the Northeast, Maoists of Nepal and Naxalites of India,” the BJP leader said. “There is no doubt that ISI promotes global terrorism. Centre must launch a campaign to mount pressure on the UN Security Council to get the agency branded as a global terrorist organisation,” Mr Singh said. He said that ‘‘policy of appeasement’’ had failed the Centre to take steps against fundamentalists. Police
today said no evidence was found on the Muslim cleric arrested in
Dibrugarh for possession of cocaine to prove that he was linked to
