BJP asks Govt to act against pro-Pakistan rallyists in J&K

Lodging strong objection against the protest march by militants carrying pro-Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba flags and shouting slogans in favour of Pakistan in Kashmir valley, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday said that it was a serious development and the Centre should take immediate action against the protestors.

"This is a direct challenge to national security," BJP spokesperson Javadekar said in a statement. The pro-Pakistani militant action is a result of soft policy adopted by the Prime Minister and the UPA Government towards the challenge of terrorism," he said.

"The Kashmir situation is worsening day by day because of this soft policy of Government. Pro-Pakistani Slogans is a threat to national security. BJP always stands for policy of zero tolerance for issues concerning danger to national security," Javadekar said.

"The whole Kashmir issue is the result of Nehruvian blunder of giving separate status to the State of Jammu & Kashmir. This separate status is now converting into full-fledged separatism. Initiatives like round-table conference have no meaning unless this threat is addressed squarely," he said

"The whole peace efforts and negotiations in Kashmir should be focused on security angle. Unfortunately the UPA Government is discussing the formula of autonomy, self-rule, demilitarisation as proposed by Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf. India in the process has lost initiative created during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA Government.
