| Mahajan's BP gets 'marginally' better Mumbai Wednesday brought a glimmer of hope for those anxiously awaiting news on BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's condition. While Mahajan, who is battling for life, continued to remain 'critical' on his fifth day, PD Hinduja Hospital authorities said his blood pressure was marginally improving. However, experts pointed out that while the 'development' was positive, it could also mean that the caregivers had begun initial treatment with a higher dosage. "So, when you lower the dose, you find that his heart is still pumping as will," said a doctor attached to south Mumbai hospital. Another doctor pointed out that as his heart had never been the badly affected, any improvement in blood pressure didn't necessarily mean that he is on the road to recovery. A statement delivered by hospital director Anupam Verma to mediapersons stated, "Mahajan's requirement of medication to maintain blood pressure is very gradually coming down and he is tolerating it." But he added a note of caution: "His condition continues to remain critical but stable. He is still on ventilator and CRRT or dialysis." |
