Mahbubnagar prays for Mahajan

As senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan is battling for life, Mahbubnagar in Andhra Pradesh is offering special prayers for him.

In 1949, it was in the railway guest house at Mahbubnagar that Mr Mahajan was born. At the time, his father Venkatesh Mahajan was working as a teacher at the railway school.

Eight months after he was born, his father Venkatesh and mother Prabhavati left Mahbubnagar for Hyderabad following the transfer of his father.

However, he always remembered his birthplace and visited Mahbubnagar many a times. Mr Mahajan had recently revealed to people of Mahbubnagar why he was nostalgic about the place and that his birthplace held a special place in his heart.

He had visited Mahbubnagar in 1993 to participate in a yatra to highlight the neglect of various pending projects of the district. During that visit he suddenly asked about the railway guest house and visited the place spending some time there. It was in a public meeting that Mr Mahajan revealed that the guest house was the place where he was born.

People in Mahbubnagar are in a state of shock and dismay over the incident of his younger brother shooting Pramod Mahajan. BJP workers held special yagnas and poojas for him.
